Our Programs
Sikat Impact Challenge
Cycle 3
Transforming the way Renewable Energy Projects impact lives in the Philippines.
The Sikat Impact Challenge is the country’s first Incubation Program aimed at implementing Renewable Projects (RE) in rural communities in the Philippines.
Sikat held a call for youth organizations in Luzon last February 2018 to pitch their projects that
aim to solve community problems through RE. Three organizations were chosen and in support of their project, they were given exclusive RE Project Management Training, access to an extensive network of experts in the Energy Industry, and Php500,000 in seed funding.
Here are our three implemented projects with our partner organizations.

Project Recharge
TAO-Pilipinas, Inc.
Community Address: Masagana Area, Brgy. Pulong Yantok, Angat, Bulacan
No. of Beneficiaries: 256 persons (63 households)
The project comprises five components. First is the construction of 10 solar street lights distributed along the critical areas identified by the members. This enhanced safety and security in the community. The other two components include the installation of a Water Purification System (WPS) and a solar photovoltaic system to power the WPS, which provides the community access to an affordable alternative source of purified water. The WPS not only gives the community and a community member a source of livelihood but it also ensures the sustainability of the system. The fourth component is the establishment of the Project Sustainability Fund (PSF) to safeguard the funds necessary to maintain, sustain, and develop the systems installed and constructed in the area courtesy of Project Recharge. A portion of the PSF comes from the income of the WPS while the rest comes from the maintenance fee for the solar streetlights. Finally, the last component is the conduct of three capacity-building activities that supported the Renewable Energy initiative.
